Security
The security system allows an Administrator to precisely define who may access the system, and what they may do once inside. This is achieved via a number of security layers. Access to the system itself is via a single, managed point of contact and everything runs within this security context. This may involve NT Accounts, SSL/TLS, Session validation etc. Once inside, the Security system interacts with users and user levels, Application access control and Application roles and privileges.
Scalability
Scalability is key to the architecture of any EpioBusiness
Server application. Because of its layered architecture,
the platform scales to provide high-speed performance
for multiple users and at high transaction volumes.
Sessions are not tied to any particular application
server.
Client System Analysis
This system provides information on all aspects of the client’s browser/device capabilities. This information includes browser type and version, operating system, connection speed, plug-ins, screen area, scripting availability, and cookie support. This information allows the platform and its Applications to alter in both appearance and behaviour to exploit the features available (or to deal with restrictions present) in the client's configuration.
Logging & Metrics
The EpioBusiness Server system tracks and records every
application accessed and every operation performed,
and provides a suite of reports based on this data.
This includes reports on system load, session details,
user activity, dormant accounts, application usage,
Browser analysis etc.
Debug & Error Handling
The debug tools test application components, as well as calculate and report performance. These tools can be left running in a live environment to get accurate 'real world' performance and behaviour information for specific applications. Every error that occurs is automatically logged and is reported to the Administrator.
Backup/Restore
The backup tools allow an entire application and all
its associated files to be backed up. This can be particularly
useful during upgrade processes, allowing the system
to be quickly rolled back should issues arise.
Caching
EpioBusiness Server caches certain system data, greatly reducing the access time to platform features and applications. Proactive and reactive caching mechanisms are used, so that the cached elements of a users information space are based closely to usage.
