Epionet
expands Product Suite
New
tools for Enterprise Web Solutions
11 March 2002
Epionet,
headquartered in Dublin, Ireland has announced an expansion
in its growing product suite at the XML & WebServices Conference
in London. The new product suite is called Epiowave and consists
of EpioBusiness Server, EpioBuilder and in beta, EpioDesigner.
Epionet
offers a radical approach to designing e-business applications
through an XML web services open environment which is supported
by a suite of products for accelerated design, development,
deployment and integration. Epiowave can be used by internal
IT departments, third party software vendors and systems integrators
to greatly enhance their approach to delivering powerful web
applications.
EpioBusiness
Server configures, deploys and administers business solutions
in web-based environments, across Intranets, Extranets and
public facing Internet. It consists of advanced System Services,
which manage common system elements, such as web servers,
security and logging and Application Services, which manages
functionality common to all applications.
EpioBuilder
is an advanced toolset which delivers an overall architecture
for building enterprise web solutions such as learning management
applications. It contains a smarter, more intuitive set of
tools and services to help manage many of the repetitive and
time-consuming tasks associated with developing web systems.
This advanced technology is for developers working with component-based
solutions and web services.
EpioDesigner,
which is currently in beta, focuses on reducing the communication
gap between Business Users and Technologists during the requirements
analysis, prototyping and usability stages of the software
development lifecycle by adopting a simple yet sophisticated
process. Based on standard processes and tools, EpioDesigner
has a fine tuned methodology for clear, rapid application
analysis and prototyping specifically targeted at the delivery
of web applications.
The
Epiowave product suite is aimed at the global developer community
where time and cost savings of up to 60% can be achieved.
Speaking
at the launch Liam McMahon, Vice President, said "We have
spent 3 years developing the Epiowave suite and toolsets.
Our aim was to assist organisations to produce Enterprise
Applications more efficiently than using standard development
tools by creating an environment where application developers
forget the bits and bytes of technology and focus on delivering
business value. This facilitates higher quality and shorter
time to market than with just the tools themselves."
